Feelin' full of girl power and femme fatale vibes - I had the honor of contributing to the GIRLS RULE THE WORLD issue of Dazed and Confused with Lupita Nyong'o on the cover. Amazed to have my name among those of so many lovely ladies (SLAY LUPITA SLAY). For the article I skyped with Rookie magazine's Tavi Gevinson. We first met at a Rookie party in L.A. where we danced to All Star by Smash Mouth and moshed to Kathleen Hanna. This then prompted a sensational and electrifying Snapchat liaison, an affair of dazzling feats and delicate executions of skill. Anyways, here's the online story (and photo gallery), in which we discuss "everything from feminism to Snapchat to the divine organization of the universe." Oh, and Aunt Flow.
Greetings from Wilmington, NC, where I'm shooting Sleepy Hollow. I'm having so much fun kickin it with my screen dad, Orlando Jones. (Still haven't met the Sin Eater.) Terrifying monsters aside, this article came out today in Horizon Travel and Lifestyle Magazine, an insert of the Wall Street Journal. Written by Billy Shore, the founder and CEO of Share Our Strength and No Kid Hungry, the story reveals Jeff Bridges' efforts to end childhood hunger in America. As you know, I also support this very important cause. The story will be featured on the ABC Studio's outdoor screen in New York's Times Square Thanksgiving Week. Had a great time with Kiernan Shipka at Teen Vogue's Young Hollywood party last night. It's been a busy week! The trailer for Rio 2 has started running before screenings of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, which opened last night. I play one of Blu's (Jesse Eiesenberg) and Jewel's (Anne Hathaway) three macaws, "brainy Bia." You can see photos and read about it here.
Thanks so much to everyone who watched the Zodiak Media video to help raise $100K for Ubuntu Education Fund! It's going to help support a lot of kids from cradle to career.
On Saturday night, Ian Nelson, Jack Quaid and the winners of the Ubuntu Fund raffle joined me at WME's screening room to watch The Hunger Games. I am very thankful to Christiana Dover (@christianalove), the winner of the raffle, for her contributions to this cause. I'd like to thank everyone who supported Ubuntu by buying a raffle ticket. Every dollar counts, and together we were able to raise over $900! This money will go towards the Ubuntu Center in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where it will be used to provide care for the kids in need in the township.
I was amazed by your eagerness to aid Ubuntu throughout the process of the raffle. I am so grateful for your continued enthusiasm and would love your help with Ubuntu's next campaign. All you need to do is watch this video:
For each view that the video receives, Zodiak Media will donate $1 to the Ubuntu Fund. Spread the word, tell you friends, and share the link. By just clicking a button you can help bring lifesaving support to the children and mothers of Port Elizabeth.

Reunion time with Alexander and Willow
Good news, everybody! Alexander Ludwig, Willow Shields and I managed to avoid getting slimed at Saturday's Kids' Choice Awards. We did get a little on the bottom of our shoes when we walked up on stage to accept the award for Best Movie for The Hunger Games. I had such a good time seeing Willow and Alexander, as we haven't been all together in quite a while. It was an honor to receive the award. Thanks so much to all the fans who voted for us. It means a lot! Keep reading to see more photos.
I am so grateful to the NAACP Image Award committee for nominating me for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for my performance as Rue in The Hunger Games. Also in this category were Kerry Washington (Django Unchained), Gloria Reuben (Lincoln), Phylicia Rashad (Tyler Perry's Good Deeds) and Taraji P. Henson (Think Like a Man). The ceremony aired live on February 1. I've heard that award shows can be boring, but not these! From the rap tribute by Wyclef Jean and Common celebrating Harry Belafonte, to Steve Harvey's jokes, it was lots of fun. Keep reading to see my photo diary from this amazing night!
I told Tiger Beat, "In 2013, I want to read more. I love fantasy books! I would like to set aside more time for getting into movies, and music, too." What's your new year's resolution?
My new Christmas tree ornament - made from a Rue doll!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday!
Last Wednesday, I attended Kevan Hall's Spring 2013 fashion show at his atelier on Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles. The designer was so nice to lend me this beautiful strapless A-line dress. I loved the leather bow belt, which perfectly matched a pair of Franco Sarto shoes I've had in my closet forever but haven't had a chance to wear. Besides actresses like Virginia Madsen and Teri Hatcher, and singer Estelle, I also ran into my favorite red carpet date, Jackie Emerson, who wore a beautiful copper Kevan Hall dress. To see more photos from the evening, including my top three picks from the runway, keep reading.
