I can't believe how many fans have turned out to see The Hunger Games! I went to the very first show at midnight with a small group of friends, then did it again Friday night with about 60 friends and family members, including Leven Rambin, Dayo Okeniyi (well, he dropped by at the beginning of the movie) and my aunt, who surprised me by flying in from New York. Afterwards, we hit up Ben & Jerry's. Yes, The Hunger Games made us all scream for ice cream!
It was a long, crazy day because I did two TV interviews, one with Sam Rubin from KTLA's morning news program in L.A., and and the other with E! News. Sam was so much fun and such a good interviewer. Before I went on at about 8:20, he tweeted, "Psyched to have Hunger Games star @amandlastenberg with us live in minutes... quick, which leading lady does Amandla really look like?" Can you guess? My family keeps teasing me about one answer I gave: Sam asked, "So, how does one become a good tree climber?" Me: "You climb trees repeatedly." While at KTLA, I also got to see anchor Michaela Perreira, who was the moderator for a panel I did for Justine magazine at GirlTopia a few months ago.
Keep reading to see which costars I saw Thursday night!
What more is there to say? I had a blast at the premiere. It was a dream come true! From the red carpet interviews, to reuniting with all of the movie's actors and filmmakers, to seeing Suzanne Collins again...I couldn't have asked for a more perfect night. A big shout-out to stylist Sophia Banks Coloma, makeup artist Aliesh Pierce and hair magician Charles Baker Strahan, who helped me put it all together. A reporter said my look was very Tinkerbell, while others called it Old Hollywood or retro. I actually think it was both! The Collette Dinnigan dress was my first choice, and the Forevermark diamond earrings made me feel super-special. Thanks to Bottega Veneta for the cool clutch and to Kimberly Mcdonald for the pinkie ring, which fit perfectly - on my index finger. I also want to thank my parents for starting it all by making me!

When Alexander Ludwig and I landed in Minneapolis, we learned on Twitter that hundreds of fans were sleeping overnight outside the Mall of America in the freezing cold weather. Thanks so much for being so dedicated! After greeting the 8,000 people who showed up and lined the rotunda holding funny signs, Jackie Emerson and I rode the wild rollercoaster and a new ride that had just opened. It was the perfect way to end the press tour!
Check out the view from my hotel in Miami, the second stop for me on The Hunger Games National Mall Tour. The day started with a visit to the Spanish language morning show, Despierta America, with Jennifer Lawrence and Alexander Ludwig. You can see the segment if you click here. They dubbed us over in Spanish, and translated the questions into English. I'm in my third year of Spanish in school, and am told I have a pretty good accent, but it would have been difficult to do the interview all in Spanish!
Next, we chatted with the hilarious Pico for the show 18 & Over, and did an interview with The Arena. Pico had dyed his hair blue to recreate The Capitol style. Click here to see the interview! In the afternoon, it was fan time. Everyone was so nice and so excited to see us. Gracias, Miami!
First stop on my mall tour - Atlanta! It's all happening so fast, so I'd better get it all down quick! After doing interviews with some college newspapers in the morning, I headed with Dayo Okeniyi, Leven Rambin and Jack Quaid to CNN to do online and on-air interviews. Next, we went to the Lenox Square mall's Microsoft store to sign posters with 250 VIP guests. My favorites was a little girl wearing a homemade Rue shirts. Check her out below. Then after doing red carpet interviews and signing posters for the fans, the gang, along with Liam Hemsworth, did a Q & A panel with fans. Before I knew it, it was time to head to the airport for the next stop - Miami. But not before getting a long hug from my best friend, Skye, who nows lives in Atlanta.
