Had a great time with Kiernan Shipka at Teen Vogue's Young Hollywood party last night. It's been a busy week! The trailer for Rio 2 has started running before screenings of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, which opened last night. I play one of Blu's (Jesse Eiesenberg) and Jewel's (Anne Hathaway) three macaws, "brainy Bia." You can see photos and read about it here.
Reunion time with Alexander and Willow
Good news, everybody! Alexander Ludwig, Willow Shields and I managed to avoid getting slimed at Saturday's Kids' Choice Awards. We did get a little on the bottom of our shoes when we walked up on stage to accept the award for Best Movie for The Hunger Games. I had such a good time seeing Willow and Alexander, as we haven't been all together in quite a while. It was an honor to receive the award. Thanks so much to all the fans who voted for us. It means a lot! Keep reading to see more photos.
I am so grateful to the NAACP Image Award committee for nominating me for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for my performance as Rue in The Hunger Games. Also in this category were Kerry Washington (Django Unchained), Gloria Reuben (Lincoln), Phylicia Rashad (Tyler Perry's Good Deeds) and Taraji P. Henson (Think Like a Man). The ceremony aired live on February 1. I've heard that award shows can be boring, but not these! From the rap tribute by Wyclef Jean and Common celebrating Harry Belafonte, to Steve Harvey's jokes, it was lots of fun. Keep reading to see my photo diary from this amazing night!
I told Tiger Beat, "In 2013, I want to read more. I love fantasy books! I would like to set aside more time for getting into movies, and music, too." What's your new year's resolution?
Last Wednesday, I attended Kevan Hall's Spring 2013 fashion show at his atelier on Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles. The designer was so nice to lend me this beautiful strapless A-line dress. I loved the leather bow belt, which perfectly matched a pair of Franco Sarto shoes I've had in my closet forever but haven't had a chance to wear. Besides actresses like Virginia Madsen and Teri Hatcher, and singer Estelle, I also ran into my favorite red carpet date, Jackie Emerson, who wore a beautiful copper Kevan Hall dress. To see more photos from the evening, including my top three picks from the runway, keep reading.
Happy Halloween, everybody! I started early this year by attending the Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times Halloween Carnival on October 21. This is the second year in a row I've dressed up as a vampire - last year I was inspired by of my favorite bands, Vampire Weekend. So fun! Click here to watch an interview I did at last Sunday's carnival. I also want to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes! I turned 14 on October 23. This photo collage helped make my day very special!
I couldn't help but clap when Grouplove performed at Teen Vogue's 10th Annual Young Hollywood Party last night. I love their song "Tongue Tied." I've been singing it all day long! To see who I ran into at the party, check out the Red Carpet Gallery. Congrats to Victoria Justice, who's on the October cover of Teen Vogue, the Young Hollywood issue), and to my Hunger Games castmates Willow Shields and Isabelle Fuhrman, who look gorgeous inside. If you go to the People Watching page, you'll see me talking about my fashion style. Here's a sneak peek before you go to the newsstand!
For the launch of The Hunger Games DVD on August 18, I traveled to New York and greeted some of the sweetest fans at Toys R Us! I had so much fun meeting all of you! Thanks so much for coming out!
I just had to check out all the Hunger Games toys. I ended up buying the magnetic story kit - lots of words I can play with on my fridge. While in New York, I visited a few others sights. Keep reading to see what I saw!
These weren't the only characters I ran into at Comic-Con in San Diego last weekend! Besides the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and my Hunger Games co-stars, I saw a bunch of other "characters." Keeping reading to see what I mean, especially if you're a Gleek!
Jackie Emerson, Dayo Okeyeni, Willow Shields, some of your favorite Capitol stylists from The Hunger Games, and I were in Chicago last weekend for Creation Entertainment's Fiction2Film first ever Hunger Games convention. Jackie and I did a panel together. We met fans who had traveled from as far away as London, and we even got to dance with them at the party Saturday night. I had so much fun! I also got to see Gene Varnado, the creative director behind the "Future President" PSA I did for Boeing to raise funds for The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C. He lives in Chicago and was able to come by with his family.
