Reunion time with Alexander and Willow
Good news, everybody! Alexander Ludwig, Willow Shields and I managed to avoid getting slimed at Saturday's Kids' Choice Awards. We did get a little on the bottom of our shoes when we walked up on stage to accept the award for Best Movie for The Hunger Games. I had such a good time seeing Willow and Alexander, as we haven't been all together in quite a while. It was an honor to receive the award. Thanks so much to all the fans who voted for us. It means a lot! Keep reading to see more photos.
I am so grateful to the NAACP Image Award committee for nominating me for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for my performance as Rue in The Hunger Games. Also in this category were Kerry Washington (Django Unchained), Gloria Reuben (Lincoln), Phylicia Rashad (Tyler Perry's Good Deeds) and Taraji P. Henson (Think Like a Man). The ceremony aired live on February 1. I've heard that award shows can be boring, but not these! From the rap tribute by Wyclef Jean and Common celebrating Harry Belafonte, to Steve Harvey's jokes, it was lots of fun. Keep reading to see my photo diary from this amazing night!
Last Wednesday, I attended Kevan Hall's Spring 2013 fashion show at his atelier on Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles. The designer was so nice to lend me this beautiful strapless A-line dress. I loved the leather bow belt, which perfectly matched a pair of Franco Sarto shoes I've had in my closet forever but haven't had a chance to wear. Besides actresses like Virginia Madsen and Teri Hatcher, and singer Estelle, I also ran into my favorite red carpet date, Jackie Emerson, who wore a beautiful copper Kevan Hall dress. To see more photos from the evening, including my top three picks from the runway, keep reading.
I couldn't help but clap when Grouplove performed at Teen Vogue's 10th Annual Young Hollywood Party last night. I love their song "Tongue Tied." I've been singing it all day long! To see who I ran into at the party, check out the Red Carpet Gallery. Congrats to Victoria Justice, who's on the October cover of Teen Vogue, the Young Hollywood issue), and to my Hunger Games castmates Willow Shields and Isabelle Fuhrman, who look gorgeous inside. If you go to the People Watching page, you'll see me talking about my fashion style. Here's a sneak peek before you go to the newsstand!
Jackie Emerson, Dayo Okeyeni, Willow Shields, some of your favorite Capitol stylists from The Hunger Games, and I were in Chicago last weekend for Creation Entertainment's Fiction2Film first ever Hunger Games convention. Jackie and I did a panel together. We met fans who had traveled from as far away as London, and we even got to dance with them at the party Saturday night. I had so much fun! I also got to see Gene Varnado, the creative director behind the "Future President" PSA I did for Boeing to raise funds for The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C. He lives in Chicago and was able to come by with his family.
I had the best time yesterday at the Kids Choice Awards! The highlights: Talking with Kelly Osbourne from Fashion Police on the orange carpet about how much I love the show, and realizing we were both wearing Tony Ward Couture. I also wore gold Kate Spade Oxfords. BTW Kelly's hair is super-cool. Hope you saw the interview on E! ... There were stars galore and the most awesome moment came when Taylor Swift said to me, "You're Rue!" and asked if we could take a picture together. I only wish I had the evidence: My manager misplaced her camera so if anyone finds it, please get it back to her! Or at least upload the KCAs photos so we can see them. LOL! ... Of course, it's always fun to see The Hunger Games crew: Dayo, Jackie, Isabelle, Willow, Alexander and Josh. And in case you were wondering: I did get slimed, right along with Justin Bieber at the end. But not one drop touched my dress. Phew! For more Choice photos, go to the Red Carpet gallery. Btw, I went to a couple of gift lounges on Friday and met lots of fun vendors, including two amazing teen sisters, who have a skincare line, and a jewelry designer who custom-made a special Mockingjay pin just for me. I also got a fox face necklace for Jackie. Thanks so much to GBK Productions, BOP and Tigerbeat, and PopStar.
Which THG costar did I tell reporters I hoped would get slimed (all in fun, of course!)
Hope everyone enjoyed watching the Oscars and the red carpet fashion! One of my favorite looks was Jessica Chastain's amazing Alexander McQueen. Jackie Emerson and I went to InStyle magazine's viewing party at Boa Steakhouse in West Hollywood where we raided the candy bar for Gummy bears, Reese's Pieces and Sour Patch Kids. (Click here to see who else attended!) I really loved my dress, which was designed by Belle Sauvage. It has these cool mint green side panels that were three-dimensional, and a purple other- wordly print down the front and back that reminded me of something someone in The Hunger Games' Capitol would wear. (Thanks to stylist Sophie Banks Coloma!) I wore my own Calvin Klein peep toe shoes, along with a purple Tyler Alexander purse and sparkling Forevermark drop earrings. Jackie looked pretty in pink (and red!) Preen.
After watching the Golden Globes awards show last Sunday night (congrats to all the winners!), I headed to the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel for 13th Annual Warner Bros. and Instyle Golden Globes After Party. There, I ran into Levin Rambin (Glimmer), who looked pretty in pink and red, Alexander Ludwig (Cato), Phoebe Tonkin (The Secret Circle) and Lamorne Morris (New Girl). I especially loved the dress and shoes Burberry lent me — thanks so much!
Check out the story Just Jared Jr. ran about me and my Hunger Games costars from that night right here.
Last night I met up with Leven Rambin at the Instyle and Forevermark Diamonds A Promise of Beauty and Brilliance Golden Globes party at the Beverly Hills Hotel. I really wanted to tell George Kotsiopoulos from Fashion Police that I watch his show all the time, but never got the chance. I did meet Jared Eng from Just Jared who was really cool and sweet. Check out the article about me and Leven on Just Jared Jr.
Two peas in a ThreePeasCo. pod
The adorable Rowan Blanchard from Spy Kids 4 and I presented the award for Rockin' Child Performer at the Youth Rock Awards at Hollywood's Avalon club last week. Who won? Madison De La Garza from Desperate Housewives! We had so much fun watching the incredible dancers and celebrating all the winners. We also bonded over our shared designer, the incredible ThreePeasCo. Thanks, Antoinette!
